Perplexity Review
Perplexity is an answer and search engine that poses questions in conversational terms and gives answers, including their sources. Its generative model combs the Internet for information and presents it in an easy-to-read summary, and you can follow up on specific topics with more questions if needed. The app is free and doesn’t require an account, but creating one offers access to additional features.
You can start searches with a tap or by voice, and a quick reply is usually in the cards. Results are displayed on a home page, with threads (the result of a single back-and-forth session) and permalinks if you want to go back to a particular search or find similar queries. You can also edit the sources for a search and remove those that aren’t relevant. As with any generative AI, though, the information you receive could be wrong from time to time.
Perplexity is an excellent option if you need quick, reliable information on the go. The interface is slick, the questions are easy to type or say, and the app always knows the right response to give you. With a focus on fact-based answers and prominent links to source material, it’s among the most reliable and useful apps of its kind.
